Mission Statement
Our organization seeks to promote and protect the rights of women and minorities by amplifying their voices and advocating for increased equality and representation in Yemeni society. We aim to challenge stereotypes, combat discrimination, and work toward the inclusion of the marginalized in the media and society. Through advocacy, awareness campaigns, and partnerships with other groups and individuals, we strive to give a bigger platform to women and minorities, foster dialogue, and drive positive social change. Our mission is to build a more equitable, just, and inclusive society where all individuals have the opportunity to thrive and be heard. Through our work, we aim to create a more equitable future where all individuals are empowered to share their stories and contribute to positive social change.
Introduction
We Hear You is a registered organization based in Sweden, established in 2024 with a mission to fight for the rights of women and minorities.
The organization is founded by Hind Al Eryani, a renowned Yemeni journalist and human rights defender, who has dedicated 13 years to leading social campaigns that have garnered international attention. Hind’s advocacy work has focused on a wide range of issues including sustainability, women’s rights, child rights, and minorities rights.
Hind Al Eryani has been an advocate for marginalized people in Yemen and has played a crucial role as a mediator in conflict resolution efforts. In 2020, she facilitated dialogue between the UN envoy to Yemen and the Huthis, leading to the release of six Bahais, one of whom was facing the death penalty. Her efforts not only saved lives but also highlighted the importance of dialogue and increased awareness in building a more inclusive and just society.
